WITNESS · Physical security sensing

For journalists, analysts, and DPOs writing about us.

Everything on this page is on the record. Lift the one-liner verbatim, use the founder bio, quote from the we-are / we-are-not list. The brand assets sit at the bottom; the press contact line is the canonical inbound channel.

Copy this, verbatim.

The sentence we'd like lifted into the standfirst. It is the single phrase that draws the line between us and automated facial recognition — please don't paraphrase the second clause.

“TicketWave Witness is a UK CCTV ReID-via-embeddings platform for managed accommodation; we do not do facial recognition.”

Shorter variants, on the record:

  • One sentence: “UK CCTV ReID-via-embeddings for managed accommodation — not facial recognition.”
  • Tagline: “Watch the perimeter. Without watching your residents.”

Jordan Gilbert — founder.

Jordan is the founder of TicketWave (the decision plane) and TicketWave Witness (the sensing plane). He runs both day-to-day and is the only person you'll talk to during a pilot conversation. Harvard-trained engineer (HarvardX); UK-based; single-founder by design until the first three pilots complete.

Quote, on the record: “ReID via embeddings is not facial recognition done right — it is a different category of processing. The whole sovereignty posture falls apart if you elide that distinction.”

We are.

  • § 01

    A sensing-plane analytics layer

We sit on top of existing CCTV — we do not replace the cameras, the VMS, or the DVR. The sensing-plane reads frames the customer is already capturing.

  • § 02

    Embeddings + similarity search

We compute a 512-dimensional vector per detected person from body shape, gait and clothing colour. Re-identification is similarity search across those vectors.

  • § 03

    An ICO-registered controller's processor

The customer is the data controller. We are the processor. ICO ZA-registration is in progress for our own controller role on operational metadata.

  • § 04

    UK-only inference

Inference runs on UK-region compute (lhr1). Embeddings live in UK-region storage. No frames or vectors transit the US, the EU, or any other jurisdiction.

We are not.

The four sentences that would, if misreported, do the most damage to the ICO posture. Please don't elide any of them.

  • § 01

    Not facial recognition

We do not extract or store a facial template under the UK GDPR Schedule 1 special-category meaning. ReID via embeddings is a different category of processing from automated facial recognition; the ICO has been explicit on the distinction.

  • § 02

    Not a CCTV manufacturer

We do not sell cameras, recorders, or PoE switches. We are a software layer for the cameras the customer already has.

  • § 03

    Not AWS- or Google-AI-dependent

No US hyperscaler in the request path. Self-hosted model on UK compute; UK-region storage; self-hosted fonts. The sovereignty posture is verifiable in code (scripts/verify-sovereignty.mjs).

  • § 04

Not in active surveillance for state actors

We sell to private operators of managed accommodation — build-to-rent, boutique hotels, mid-market venues. We do not deploy to police forces, intelligence services, or border control. We will not.

No press coverage yet.

We're pre-launch. No interviews have run; no press has covered the company. First interviews welcome — we'll publish links here as coverage lands. If you're writing the first piece, you'd be the first piece.
